A New Spielberg or Aronofsky? Six Filmmakers To Watch From New Directors/New Films (Deadline Hollywood)
New York's New Directors/New Films series has introduced the likes of Steven
Spielberg, Spike Lee, Darren Aronofsky, Richard Linklater, Kelly Reichardt and
Pedro Almodovar. Spielberg's _Sugarland Express _debuted at the event and the
fledgling filmmaker went on to direct _Jaws_ a year later. Spike Lee's NYU
thesis film _Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop: We Cut Heads_ was the first student
film to be shown in ND/NF back in 1982, and Christopher Nolan debuted his
first feature _Following_ in the U.S. in 1999. The series, hosted by MoMA and
the Film Society of Lincoln Center, this year includes 29 features and 12

Three-way switch question?
I have a newer three-way switch setup in my room (two three-way switches with one load). I want to power a new single pole swith from one of the boxes - I have run the new wire to the box but no, it doesn't work.
In this box there are an existing three strand and two strand Romex (ea w/ground). The three wires connect w/ the red to the common, the black to a traveler and the white to a bundle of whites. The two wires connect w the black opposite the red on the tree-way switch and the white to the bundle.
I added the single pole with the white to the bundle and the black to the single pole with a pigtail to the black on the three way switch.
The three-ways continue to work but the new single pole only works when the three-ways are switched a particular way.
Can this be fixed?
I'm an electrician.
It sounds like you have the new switch hooked up to one of the travelers not a constant hot, it should be a simple fix if the new switch is in the same box as the feed, not the load side. Just un to the line side of the single pole switch to the joint of the constant hot (same as the line side of the 3 way)
with the 3 way switch there are the 2 travelers and either #1 or #2 will be hot but never at the same time or never where both are not hot.
