Kanye West Signs Q-Tip to G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam (Vibe)

Def Jam has announced the signing of Q-Tip to G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam records.

In a press release sent out this morning, Def Jam CEO Barry Weiss announced
the new partnership and plans for the veteran MC's fourth solo album _The Last
Zulu_ to be released in early 2013

“I’m excited to be a part of the great iconic Def Jam label,” said **Q-Tip**.
“I’m humbled to be a part of such a storied history. To reconnect with Barry

How to record hip hop like Eminem or Tinie Tempah?

I'm guessing that Cubase would be one of the best options for recording electronic music. But does Cubase come with a large instrument base? How do guys like Eminem get all their sounds and beats, do they manipute sounds included in Cubase (or similar program) software?

Most audio recording software DOES come with sample sounds loops. Logic, Ableton, Cubase, ProTools, etc all have their virtual instruments and sound libraries.

Beyond that, people use what are called "plugins". A plugin is a virtual instrument, sample player, or effect that is often times created by a 3rd party software company. Native Instruments and IK Multimedia are some of the biggest but there's a BUNCH of them out there. Check out sweetwater.com and go to their "virtual instruments" section and see for yourself. While ure there, they should have some great guides for beginners getting into DAW (digital audio workstation) recording.

Electronic music can be created using any recording program. However, Ableton has kinda been more on the cutting edge of electronic/DJ stuff so u might want to at least check it out. I use Cubase myself and Cubase USED to be known to be the program to record BANDS, having the most audio input capability, etc, it was very much like having ur own recording studio with like 128 inputs lol. However, theyve since jumped on the electronic/hip-hop production kinda vibe and now have some great "native" virtual instruments included.

All the programs to consider should have a demo version u can record to download. Even the 3rd party VSTi (virtual instrument) companies have downloadable demo version.

Some big VSTi programs off the top off my head:
Drums: NI battery 3, Drumcore, BFD
Sample players : NI Kontakt, IK Sampletank
Synths: NI Massive, Reaktor, Absynth, Morphine
